I took a walk to find a grocery store. First I went to a nearby store. It turned out to be a warehouse store. I don’t think a need a super size bag of chips & 24 cans of Coke. I then headed towards a campground, but the store was closed. I looked at a sign (I don’t read German very well), that had a map showing a trail leading to a village. I followed the trail until it came to a clearing in the forest. To my left was a wide clearing that had a paved section with railings. It was an old bridge crossing the river. I looked around & found an old camp ground with an abandoned restaurant/store. On the fence was a Satellite photo of the area & some areas labeled. What I had found was on old autobahn built in 1949 & abandoned in 1989. The forest has started to grow onto the former road way (the pavement appears to have been removed). Then I realized that this area around Potsdam was in the former East Germany. In fact most of the area In which I’ve been driving, was also in East Germany.
