Today I drove the less traveled roads to visit the “Alt Stadt” of Rothenburg, Germany. As can be seen in these pictures this is a well preserved old German town with a surrounding defensive wall. I started exploring without a map (eventually I bought a map). There are so many nooks & crannies to explore here to satisfy the most curious of visitors. I enjoyed my drive through the German countryside. The roads run between rolling fields & patches of forest. About every 5-6 miles the road leads through a small village or town. Near one village, I was stopped by the German “Polizei”. Again, my red license plates have attracted the attention of the local authorities. They wanted to see the vehicle registration, my drivers license & passport to verify that everything was legal.
