For six weeks, my Vovlo served me well in Europe.

23 June, 2008: TUSENFRYD
In spite of the grey clouds, I drove to Tusenfryd this morning. Tusenfryd is an amusement park located close to Oslo. Of course, I got in with a senior discount admission price. For a small park, it had 3 substantial roller coasters. I rode them all! My favorite was “Thunder”, a wooden roller coaster with plenty of air time. Their latest coaster, is a LIM launched steel coaster that accelerates to 55mph in 2 sec. The bumper cars were great. About an hour after I arrived, it rained hard for about 20 min. The Norwegians take the rain in stride. They patiently wait for the rain to let up, & they continue having fun as soon as possible. I left happy & I was greeted at the hotel with sunny blue sky weather. Now that's a rare occurance around here lately!

22 June 2008: OSLO, NORWAY
I rode the T-Bannen (train) to Oslo for a quick visit. I left the underground station & wondered toward the water front. On the way I visited the city hall, the pride of Oslo. Built in the 1920’s, incorporating works of art created by Norwegian artists. Next I walked by the harbor on my way to see the Akershus Fortress & Castle. I took the small passenger ferry across the harbor to a place called Bygdoy. Here I found the Norsk Folkemuseum, a collection of historical buildings representing different places in Norway. Before I went back to the hotel, I spent time at the Norway Maritime Museum. By the end of the day it was raining again. I’m beginning to look forward to going home to Tracy, where it’s hot & dry!
