Near Lone Pine on Hwy 395.
A detention camp for Japanese-American citizens living in the west USA. They were removed from there homes & transported to places like this during World War 2.

In the 4 years my husband and I lived in Las Vegas and drove back and forth to LA we never saw this. I have some research to do, thanks so much for sharing this!!!
Actualy Manzanar is not between Las Vegas & LA. It's on Hway 395 near a town called Lone Pine. I drove from bishop to Las vegas when I stopped here. Look at my map & it's near the befining of my route to LV. that should give you a rough idea about where it is located.
