June 7, 2009. I’M IN IRELAND & I’m not alone!

This evening, at dinner, the 27 tour members & our tour leader Pat O’Connor, met for the first time. We each were asked to stand & explain a little about ourselves & where we’ve been in the world. The majority of this tour group are experienced travelers, some of which have been on previous “Rick Steves” European tours. This is my first travel experience with a large group of strangers. I’m not alone & I’m with good travel companions.

Officially, this is the Rick Steves Europe Through The Back Door, Inc., Best of Ireland in 14 Days tour. For more information about this tour & others visit the Rick Steves web site:

June 7, 2009. I’M IN IRELAND!

While the flight to Ireland was long, It was free of delays, lost luggage, confusion, etc.

I arrived in Ireland with everything except my CAMERA! I last used my camera at the Balboa Park BART station while I was waiting to transfer to the SFO train. When I arrived at the Dublin airport I could not find my camera. As you may have noticed, I’m able to make photos for this blog. After checking in at the Harding Hotel, I immediately went on a shopping expedition to find a replacement camera. I was able to find & purchase a compact Canon camera similar to the one I lost. OK! I’m in business now. I spent the afternoon exploring Dublin. Here are some pictures of Dublin.
